HP DeskJet 3755 All-in-One Printer Review - Free Download Driver
HP touts its Deskjet 3755 All-in-One Printer ($69.99) as the world's smallest house all round (AIO) printer. It surely is small, and uniquely styled. Unlike the business-oriented HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile All-in-One Printer, our Editors' Choice mobile AIO, the HP DeskJet 3755 is geared toward customers, particularly millennials, trying to print out photos from cellular devices. The HP DeskJet 3755's slow pace and lean feature set limit it into light-duty use, but it must do well in its intended function.

Rainbow of Printers
The HP DeskJet 3755 measures 5.6 from 15.9 by 7 inches (HWD) after closed, 10.4 by 15.9 by 17.8 inches using trays extended, also weighs only a lightweight 5.1 pounds. This contrasts favorably with the Epson Expression Home XP-430 Small-in-One, that measures 5.4 from 15.4 by 11.8 inches--over 4 inches deeper than the 3755.

The HP DeskJet 3755 is offered in seven colours, every a two-tone mix together with white.

An Atypical All-in-One
One strange feature is what HP calls for the scan beam, which is a bowed bit of plastic that horizontally spans the printer's high. You scan a webpage by slipping it under the column; it's fed through and appears on the other side. The 3755 lacks a flatbed and an automatic document feederpages must be fed one sheet at a time. The top-end of this beam homes the control panel, with a tiny monochrome screen and its management buttons, for launching color or black scanning, enabling/disabling Wi-Fi or Wireless Direct, canceling or restarting a print job, or even allowing HP's Internet Services.

Connectivity is via USB or 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. In addition, it supports direct, peer-to-peer connection with a compatible computer or mobile device via Wireless Direct. It works well with the HP Smart mobile app.

On the Slow Side
We didn't anticipate rapid speed from the HP DeskJet 3755, and we didn't get it. The two for printing our Word evaluation file (4.3 pages per minute( or ppm) along with also our whole small business suite (1.4ppm), the HP DeskJet 3755 turned from the slowest timings of any printer we've tested using our present test package. (We completed the Epson Expression Premium XP-640 Small-in-One Printer, the closest similar printer, at 3.2ppm for the complete suite, although in printing out our Word test document it was a comparative speedster in 9.5ppm.) The HP DeskJet 3755's photo-printing speed (averaging 46 minutes per print) is also slow, but not the lightest for an inkjet that we have tested. The Brother MFC-J6535DW, for instance, dropped 1 minute, 25 seconds per print.

Great For Pictures
According to our testing, general text quality is average for an inkjet, together with typical text quality, sub-par graphics, and above-par photo quality. For the four standard fonts on our test suite, it had been better than normal to an inkjet, although it had issues with with the three additional exotic fonts from the package. As long as you adhere to commonly used fonts, then you should be fine.

With images, we noticed average banding, a normal pattern of faint striations, in some cases, and some wallpapers seemed a bit blotchy, afflicted by uneven distribution of ink. It is fine for printing your own graphics, but not really suitable for printing files like PowerPoint handouts meant for distribution to others.

Since the HP DeskJet 3755 was created mostly for photo printing, and photos are among HP's fortes, it's not surprising it has above-average photo quality, in spite of how it has only two ink tanks--one for black, and also one for cyan, magenta, and yellow--while most printers have separate tanks for each color. The majority of our test prints were as great as what we'd expect from drugstore prints, plus a couple of prints were improved. There was some loss of detail in bright areas in 1 print, and also our monochrome image had a small tint.

Running Costs
In the event you were to get HP's highest-capacity cartridges separately, running prices would come to a relatively high 8.7 cents per black page and 19 cents per colour page. Based on HP, by registering in one of HP's Instant Ink subscription apps, it is possible to save up to 50% on ink costs. There are three levels: average Printing (up to 50 pages per month, for $2.99 a month), Average Printing (around 100 pages per month, at $4.99 each month), and Regular Printing (around 300 pages a month, at $9.99 per month). You pay no more for a colour page with immediate ink than you would for a shameful webpage; you also pay extra if you print extra pages, and aren't reimbursed if you do not print your yearly allotment.

Small and Affordable, but Not Quick
Its small dimensions, price, and handsome design put it in a category of its own. Set against these strengths are its ponderous printing speed and its own lack of common all-in-one attributes, including an ADF (or some flatbed for that subject ), car duplexer, touch screen, SD-card reader, port for a USB thumb drive, fax capacity, touchscreen display, and photo tray.

These omissions, along with an input tray that is suitable for only 60 sheets, then peg the HP DeskJet 3755 for light-duty use. Certainly it's not for everybody. But if you are looking for a small, midsize, and inexpensive printer primarily for use in printing out pictures in mobile devices, it might be an ideal option.
