HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw Review & Download Driver
The HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw is a small office or home office (SOHO) A4 colour laser printer with duplex printing, a color touchscreen and compact shape. It may be used over a wired system or wirelessly just like quick setup via NFC for a few mobile devices.

When we analyzed its predecessor, the HP LaserJet Pro 200 Color M251nw SOHO colour laser, we gave this a really good 7/10.

The new model, the more neatly named Color LaserJet Pro M252dw, despite its own similar number, has many important upgrades.

Design and Features
The case is brand-new, sporting a marginally wedge-shaped, white end with a dark gray inset at the top for the output tray. A flip-up, 73mm color touchscreen gives good control of the printer and may also be utilized to display photo thumbnails or even HP's online programs. It's nicely sensitive and supports swipes and bits.

On the other side of the best cover is a outlet for USB drives, protected by a rather flimsy-looking, spring-loaded flap. This can be a more convenient position than the normal front panel socket.

In the base of the front panel is the main paper tray, which has a capacity of simply 150-sheets. We've complained before that this capability was too low for even a little office, where 250 sheets would be a much better compromise. Even non standard inkjet printers provide this sort of capacity. There's no alternative for an excess tray, possibly, although there is a single-sheet multipurpose feeddirectly above the main tray.

Drivers and Cartridges
The printer can be used with HP's own PCL printer language and with PostScript level 3 in emulation, so is just as happy connected to a PC or a Mac. In the event you use its wireless connection, you start a whole new area of remote and direct printing from a vast array of devices, such as all those on iOS and Android platforms.

As well as being able to print through HP's ePrint assistance, you can print directly from wireless devices and join them using NFC tap-and-go, if they support this attribute.

HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw

The four incorporated drum and toner cartridges slot to a rack that brings from the front of the Color LaserJet Pro M252dw, making it very fast and simple to maintain. Like the paper tray, we want to see a higher capacity to such cartridges, but now at least there are high-capacity variations of this color in addition to the black cartridges.

Printing Speeds
HP maintains a high rate of 18ppm for the Color LaserJet Pro M252dw, in both mono and color print. We quantified 8.8ppm on our 5-page mono text document, rising to some genuine 14ppm over the longer 20-page test. This is not bad for a color laser in this budget.

Our five-page text and colour images document gave 8.3ppm along with the 20-page file printed as a duplex evaluation  duplex print is now normal  gave a respectable 9.2 mph minute. 15 x 10cm photos took between 14s in the USB drive, into some fairly laid-back 1 second 12s from an Android device.

Printing Quality and Costs
Even the quality of the prints is excellent on black text, with crisp, dense characters without a sign of spatter. Solid colours will also be just that: vivid and with no banding and registration of colour and black is, generally, great.

Colour photographs come through well-detailed and with great overall colors, though default options make them slightly darker than the originals and a shadow detail is missing.

The printer is unusually quiet, with measured peaks of just 59dBA at half a metre.

Using the XL versions of the toner and drum cartridges gives page costs of 2.8de for black and white 10.1p colour. These are both lower than the LaserJet Guru 200 Color M251nw, with the colour price being 2p per page more economical. As compared with other color lasers in precisely the identical price range, it's now highly aggressive.

Should I buy an HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw?
There are quite a few cheap colour laser printers around, for example, Dell C1760nw along with also the Brother HL-3140CW. Both these machines will be noticeably cheaper than the HP supplying, but the Dell is a lot more costly to operate, using a colour page price of over 15p and neither machine provides duplex print. The Brother machine does have a 250-sheet paper tray, however.

There is a lot to enjoy about the HP Color LaserJet Pro M252dw, out of its smart looks into its versatile wireless link and duplex print. We'd like to find a higher power paper tray   or an option for a second menu   but apart from that, it is a very good choice for anybody who needs quality black and colour laser printing, without a high cost cost.
